Regulation in the Nervous System:6 week workshop (Rebecca Harrison)

A regulated nervous system is one where you can feel what’s happening clearly, and respond well without excessive fear or reactivity.  It is the physiological state of resilience from which you can make clear choices.  In this class we will learn to recognize the state of our nervous system in any given moment and use tools to come back to regulation when we have gone into fight/flight or freeze.

In this class you will learn:

  • What the flight/flight/freeze response is designed to do, and how it feels when it shows up in your body.

  • The features of a regulated nervous system, and how to recognize when you are in that state.

  • How to bring yourself into a regulated state more frequently.

  • Change the habits in your nervous system so that, over time, you are able to feel resourced and respond well to life events in real time.

This class is for you if:

  • This class is a good fit for you if you have things that you care about in life, and want to respond to them in a way that contributes to others while not burning yourself out.

  • Want to create or deepen a skill set around regulation..

  • You would love to have some dedicated time with a group of people who are all interested in how to have a greater sense of peace, resource, and resiliency in yourself in this moment.

  • You are curious to learn more about how you (and your nervous system) currently responds to life events, and are ready to continue to cultivate tools to help deepen your sense of safety and responsiveness.

Class Format:

This class will be on Zoom, but as much of the class time as possible will be screen-free and nervous system friendly.  There will be a checkin at the beginning and end of class where people will have their videos on for the sake of connection.  The other class discussion will be audio only (except for those who want to see me on their screen).  There will be somatic (in the body), pleasant, regulating activities in every class. Participants are invited to make their spaces comfy and sensory rich to help with embodiment and regulation.

Class agreements:

It is important for group continuity and connection for participants to be at class as much as possible.  It is requested that you do your best to attend at least 5 of the 6 classes, show up on time, and stay for the whole class.  If you are not able to attend a class, you will receive a recording of that class to do on your own.

Any personal information or stories that are shared in the group stay in the group.

Cost: $195 or $230 if you want to contribute to a scholarship fund to give this work to people who can’t currently afford it.

$40 discount for you if you find a friend to also take the class.
